Today I had another opportunity to go speak with students before I left for Finland. This time it was with 16 amazing kids from the 1st grade. Madame Marjorie’s class from Jean XXII School in Québec.
It is really hard to describe how much energy they gave me. I felt like this was exactly what I needed to start my competitive season. I don’t know if I made a difference for them but they made a difference for me. Just to know I have 16 little ones cheering for me is everything.
When I walked into the corridor of the school, right at the entrance of their class they had made this amazing banner saying ”Welcome Audrey” with a drawing of a few of my past and current teammates. They put so much time and effort to give me the warmest of the welcome. It really touched me.
As usual, I felt like I ran out of time. So many things to talk about and they had so many questions for me. An hour definitely wasn’t enough! Next time I really need to divide my time a little better! haha
I’d like to thank Marjorie and all the kids as well as the direction at Jean XXII for giving me the chance to talk about my sport and my passion about skiing.
